UK-India Young Professionals Scheme (YPS) 2025 Ballot to Open on 18 February
The UK-India Young Professionals Scheme (YPS) 2025 opens its ballot next week, offering 3,000 young Indian nationals a chance to live, work, study, and travel in the UK for up to two years. This exclusive visa program strengthens UK-India relations while providing valuable global exposure to eligible applicants aged 18 to 30.
Ballot Details and Application Process
The YPS ballot runs from 18 February to 20 February, allowing Indian applicants to enter through the official UK government website (gov.uk). Entering the ballot is free, and the system randomly selects successful candidates.
Those who are chosen will be notified via email within two weeks of the ballot closing.They must submit their visa application, provide biometric data, and pay the required fees within 90 days.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scheme, applicants must:
- Be Indian nationals aged 18 to 30 on the date of travel.
- Hold a qualification equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Have proof of at least £2,530 in savings to support themselves in the UK.
- Ensure they meet all other requirements before entering the ballot.
- Visa fees & immigration health Surcharges must be paid separately.
A Strengthening Bilateral Partnership
The UK-India Young Professionals Scheme began in February 2023 as a reciprocal program that helps young individuals from both countries explore new cultures and professional opportunities. Since then, Indian nationals have received over 2,100 visas, strengthening UK-India ties and fostering global career growth.

Beware of Fraudulent Agents

Mandatory Return to India
Successful applicants must return to India after completing their two-year stay in the UK under this scheme. The program does not offer a direct pathway to permanent residency or extended stay beyond the stipulated period.
