The Mitsui Scholarship for Indian Students 2025 offers a comprehensive five-year educational journey:
- 1-Year Japanese Language Training: Conducted at the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) in Tokyo, this preparatory phase ensures students attain proficiency in Japanese, facilitating smoother integration into academic and daily life in Japan.
- 4-Year Undergraduate Degree: Post language training, scholars can enroll in a four-year undergraduate program at a renowned Japanese university of their choice, spanning fields like science, engineering, commerce, and economics.This program not only provides academic excellence but also immerses students in Japan’s rich cultural heritage, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of the country.

- Tuition Fees: Full coverage of tuition fees for both the language training and undergraduate studies.
- Monthly Stipend: JPY 145,000 per month to cover living expenses.Accommodation Support:
- During the language training year: JPY 5,000/month for dormitory stay at JASSO.
- During university years: JPY 25,000/month to assist with housing arrangements.
- Travel Expenses: Economy class airfare from New Delhi to Tokyo at the commencement and conclusion of the program.
- Arrival Allowance: A one-time payment of JPY 50,000 to assist with initial settlement costs.
- Insurance: Comprehensive travel and accident insurance during the scholarship period. These provisions ensure that scholars can immerse themselves fully in their academic pursuits without financial constraints.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Indian citizens.
- Age: Under 20 years as of April 1, 2025.
- Academic Performance: Minimum aggregate of 80% in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations or equivalent.
- Language Proficiency: Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N3 certification is preferred. However, candidates with N4 certification and a commitment to achieving N3 may also be considered.
- Health: Applicants must provide a fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
